What this can mean
First establish whether the bill uses actual or estimated readings. Changes in occupancy, watering, appliances and continuously running fittings can explain a rise. If use remains unexplained, a private supply or concealed internal leak may warrant investigation.
Useful observations
Keep recent actual readings and note any checks your water supplier has made. Explain automatic water use and any shared supply arrangement.
Before taking anything apart
Do not treat one bill as proof of a hidden leak or assume a repair automatically qualifies for a supplier allowance.
How to choose the next step
You can start with the symptoms without diagnosing the pipe. Our water meter leak investigation page explains the kind of investigation that may be appropriate. Describe what has changed and share any previous findings so the agreed scope addresses the unresolved problem.
Planning a residential visit
For agreed residential work, the £1,345 package connects specialist investigation with the plumbing repair. It includes detection and tracing, necessary access or excavation, parts and materials, suitable post-repair testing and a Trace & Access report. A 12-month workmanship warranty applies to the repair.
The £100 booking deposit is deducted from the total, leaving £1,245. Applicable tax is included. Decorative and remedial reinstatement, including restoring floors, plaster, paving and other finishes, is excluded. Commercial work is quoted separately. Read the complete package scope before arranging a visit.
