Understand the problem
Water under a kitchen floor can originate from a connection behind a unit, a hidden supply or an appliance. It may spread beneath cabinets before becoming visible at a plinth or adjoining room. Careful investigation helps separate these sources.
Look beyond the first visible puddle
We consider how water use and appliance cycles relate to the problem. Accessible fittings and isolation points are checked, followed by appropriate testing of suspect pipework. The cabinet layout and floor finish inform any access needed for the agreed repair.
What to prepare
Note whether moisture appears after the dishwasher, washing machine or sink is used. Clear the cupboard containing the stop valve and explain any inaccessible appliance connections.
Scope matters
Appliance servicing, replacement cabinets and decorative floor reinstatement are separate from the plumbing package. Avoid using a suspected leaking appliance until it has been assessed.
Detection through to the plumbing repair
For agreed residential work, the £1,345 package connects specialist investigation with the plumbing repair. It includes detection and tracing, necessary access or excavation, parts and materials, suitable post-repair testing and a Trace & Access report. A 12-month workmanship warranty applies to the repair.
The £100 booking deposit is deducted from the total, leaving £1,245. Applicable tax is included. Decorative and remedial reinstatement, including restoring floors, plaster, paving and other finishes, is excluded. Commercial work is quoted separately. Read the complete package scope before arranging a visit.
Choosing the right method
One method that may be considered is moisture mapping. Build a picture of how damp is distributed across the affected area. The engineer selects the approach for the actual installation; no specific instrument is promised for every visit.
