What this can mean
A wet floor may reflect a supply pipe, heating circuit, appliance or water entering from elsewhere. Floor layers can let moisture move laterally, so the wet edge is not always close to the defect. Construction details help interpret the pattern.
Useful observations
Note the room, floor covering and first place moisture appeared. Tell us about recent building work or use of nearby appliances.
Before taking anything apart
Keep clear of water near electrics and do not lift fixed flooring simply to search for the leak. Unsafe materials or structures require professional assessment.
How to choose the next step
You can start with the symptoms without diagnosing the pipe. Our underfloor pipe leak detection page explains the kind of investigation that may be appropriate. Describe what has changed and share any previous findings so the agreed scope addresses the unresolved problem.
Planning a residential visit
For agreed residential work, the £1,345 package connects specialist investigation with the plumbing repair. It includes detection and tracing, necessary access or excavation, parts and materials, suitable post-repair testing and a Trace & Access report. A 12-month workmanship warranty applies to the repair.
The £100 booking deposit is deducted from the total, leaving £1,245. Applicable tax is included. Decorative and remedial reinstatement, including restoring floors, plaster, paving and other finishes, is excluded. Commercial work is quoted separately. Read the complete package scope before arranging a visit.
